  1. Organiser

    Set up the game.

Book the pitch or court with the venue as usual. Then add the game in the app: venue cost, places, the minimum to play and the venue’s cancellation notice. PayPlayGo works out one all-in price per player.

    Free for organisers

  2. Players

    Pay to get in.

Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with no app or account. A place is held for 10 minutes while they pay and only counts once it’s paid.

    £8.40 each, via Stripe

  3. PayPlayGo + Stripe

    Held until the deadline.

PayPlayGo holds the payments until the free drop-out deadline. It’s set 2 hours before the venue’s own cancellation deadline, so the organiser can still cancel the booking.

    £84.00 held

    • Drop out before the deadline: full refund.
    • Short of the minimum in time: the game’s off and everyone is refunded automatically, before the venue’s deadline.
  4. PayPlayGo + Stripe

    Organiser paid.

Once the deadline passes, the organiser’s share goes to their bank through Stripe. Places bought after it follow in a top-up.

    £80.00 to the organiser

    • Drop out after the deadline: refunded when someone takes the place. The waitlist is offered it first, with 10 minutes to pay.

For organisers and players

If you organise.

  • Free. Players pay their share of the venue, plus any extras, and a small booking fee.
  • Set up payouts once in the app: name, date of birth, address and bank details. Stripe verifies them.
  • You can create games and collect payments before you’ve done that.
  • The first payout can take up to 7 days. After that it’s quicker.
  • If the game moves, each player chooses whether to keep their place or take a refund.

If you play.

  • Tap the link and pay. No app, no account.
  • Your place is held for 10 minutes while you pay.
  • Before the free drop-out deadline you can drop out for a full refund.
  • After it, you’re refunded if someone takes your place.
  • If the game is off or moves, you’re told and refunded, or asked whether to keep your place.

Money questions.

Who holds the money?

PayPlayGo takes the payments through Stripe and holds them until the free drop-out deadline. Then the organiser’s share is sent to their bank, also through Stripe. Refunds go back to the card or wallet they came from.

When is the free drop-out deadline?

Two hours before the venue’s own cancellation deadline, which the organiser enters when they set up the game. Players see it before they pay.

How is the price worked out?

The venue cost plus any extras, divided by the number of places, plus a small booking fee. An £80 pitch for ten is £8.00 each, plus a £0.40 fee: £8.40 all in.

What if the organiser never sets up payouts?

Players are refunded automatically if payouts aren’t set up within 30 days of the game.

How long does a payout take?

The first can take up to 7 days. After that it’s quicker. Places bought after the deadline are paid in a top-up.

Which sports?
