PayPlayGo helps people run and join weekly sports games: everyone pays their share up front and drop-outs get replaced. This explains what we hold about you, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
PayPlayGo is run by [company name], [registered address], company number [number]. We're the controller of your personal data under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Contact us at [email protected].
What we hold
- Your account: name, email address, phone number if you add one, that you've confirmed you're 18 or over, and whether you've said yes to marketing emails.
- Signing in: one-time sign-in links (we store only a scrambled version) and the IP address that asked for one; if you sign in with Apple, the account ID Apple gives us.
- Games: the groups you're in and your role, the places you've booked or dropped, waitlists, attendance the organiser records and, for netball, the position you'd like to play.
- Payments and refunds: what you paid, when, and any refunds. Card details go straight to our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Organisers' payouts: the bank account we pay you into, stored encrypted. We only ever show its last four digits, and we email you whenever it changes.
- Your phone: a notification token so we can send you push notifications, and basic technical logs (such as IP address and device type) that keep the service secure.
Why we use it
- To run the service you've asked for (our contract with you): taking payments, holding places, refunds, waitlist offers, payouts and the messages about them.
- Because the law requires it: keeping payment and tax records.
- Our legitimate interests: keeping accounts and payments secure, preventing fraud and fixing problems.
- With your consent: marketing emails, which you can turn off at any time.
Who sees it
Other players in a game see your first name. The organiser of a game sees your name, whether you've paid and how, and attendance. We use these companies to run PayPlayGo, each under a contract that protects your data: Stripe (payments), Laravel Cloud and its hosting providers (servers in the UK), Google Firebase (push notifications), Apple (Sign in with Apple) and [email provider] (email). We don't sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you use PayPlayGo. If you delete your account, we remove your name and contact details and sign you out everywhere. We keep payment records for [six years] because tax and payments law requires it, without your name on them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete your account in the app, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website only uses cookies it needs to work (keeping the page secure). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
